As clinicians, were often trained to assess tongue tie through the lens of anatomy and scoring tools and tongue function. But if we paused long enough to listen and took time to really listen to the voice of a birth mother navigating this often painful and uncertain space? In our September webinar , we’re thrilled to welcome Midwife, lactation consultant and fierce advocate Marijke Eastaugh , who will guide us through a critical conversation : How do birth mothers experience tongue -tie? And how can we better support , educate and empower them? Drawing on years of frontline experience in maternity and infant care. Marijke brings deep insight into the emotional, physical and practical challenges mothers and their families face when tongue-tie is suspected.

The session will include a facilitated discussion, providing a space for clinicians from different disciplines to share perspectives, reflect on lived experiences, and ask difficult questions. Come ready to think critically, listen deeply, and engage meaningfully. Join us September 10th for this powerful, practice-changing conversation with Marijke Eastaugh. Let’s shift the focus from “what do we see?” to “what do they feel?”—because effective tongue-tie care starts with empathy.

Marijke Eastaugh has been a Midwife since 1987 providing continuity of care for mainly Homebirth women. She has seen the craft and science of her work over many years inspire and empower not only women and their families but also Midwives. An IBCLC since 1991 her second passion is breastfeeding. Marijke lives in the Adelaide Hills, Has two children, now grown adults , who were born at home. Loving her work as an IBCLC and becoming an Endorsed Midwife in 2010 was a pivotal moment that kept Marijke going as a Midwife.
